Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 September 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and Tayla (“Tayla”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) covering your use of the Tayla mobile application and related services (the “Services”).
Tayla is a virtual try-on app: you upload a photo of your body once, then add a clothing item by pasting a product link or uploading a photo, and Tayla uses AI to generate an image of you wearing that item and to recommend the size most likely to fit you.
How we handle your personal information — including your body photos — is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Summary of key points
- Only upload photos of yourself, or of someone who has given you permission.
- The images Tayla generates are yours to keep, post, and use, including commercially.
- Size recommendations are estimates, not guarantees. Tayla is not responsible for a garment that does not fit.
- Subscriptions are billed by Apple and renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store settings.
- A try-on you have already generated has been paid for and cannot be refunded, because generating it costs us money at the moment you tap unlock.

1. Agreeing to these terms
In short: Using Tayla means you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
By downloading, creating an account on, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using Tayla on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. Who may use Tayla
In short: You must be old enough to agree to a contract where you live, and at least 13.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Tayla with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we delete it.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
3. Your photos, and whose body is in them
In short: Upload photos of yourself. If someone else is in the photo, you need their permission first.
Tayla generates new images of a human body from a photo you provide. That makes the question of whose body it is a serious one, so this is the rule that matters most in these Terms:
You may only upload a body photo of yourself, or of a person who has given you their express permission to upload it and to generate images of them. You must not upload a photo of any person who has not agreed to this, and you must never upload a photo of a child.
By uploading a photo you confirm that you have the right to do so, and you grant us the limited licence we need to operate the Services: to store the photo, send it to the AI providers named in our Privacy Policy, and generate images and size recommendations from it. That licence exists only to provide the Services to you, and ends when you delete the photo or your account.
If someone tells us an image of them was uploaded without permission, we may remove it and suspend the account responsible.
4. Images Tayla generates for you
In short: The try-on images are yours. Sharing one publicly makes it visible to anyone with the link.
As between you and us, you own the try-on images Tayla generates from your photos. You may keep them, save them, post them, and use them commercially. We claim no ownership of them.
We do keep a licence to store and process those images so we can show them to you, and to fix problems with the Services. If you use the share feature, you create a link that makes that single image viewable by anyone who has the link, without signing in — so only share images you are comfortable being seen. You can stop sharing an image at any time.
The clothing in a generated image belongs to the brand that makes it. A Tayla image does not give you any rights in a brand’s garment, logo, or product photography, and does not imply that the brand endorses you or Tayla.
5. Size advice and generated images are estimates
In short: Tayla makes a well-informed guess. It is not a promise that something will fit.
Tayla’s size recommendations are generated by AI from the measurements you provide and from size charts published by brands. Those charts are often incomplete, inconsistent between products, or simply wrong. Generated try-on images are AI approximations of how a garment might look — not photographs, and not an accurate representation of fabric, drape, colour, or fit.
Use Tayla as one input into a purchase decision, not as a guarantee. We are not responsible for a garment that does not fit, does not look like the generated image, or is returned. Your purchase is between you and the retailer, under their returns policy.
6. Subscriptions, billing, and cancelling
In short: Apple bills you, subscriptions auto-renew, and a try-on you have already generated is not refundable.
What a subscription includes
Size recommendations are free. A Tayla Pro subscription is what unlocks the generated try-on images, up to the monthly allowance shown on the subscription screen at the time you subscribe.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store, not by us. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
You can cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until that period ends. We cannot cancel a subscription for you.
Free trials
Where we offer a free trial, it converts into a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple, per Apple ID. A trial may include a smaller allowance of try-ons than a paid period; the amount is shown before you start it.
Refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple, and refund requests go to Apple rather than to us. Generating a try-on image costs us money at the moment you unlock it, so a try-on you have already generated is treated as consumed and is not refundable. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
Price and allowance changes
We may change prices or allowances for future periods. We will tell you before a change affects you, and Apple will ask you to confirm a price increase before it takes effect. If you do not agree, cancel before your next renewal.
7. Things you may not do
In short: No photos of other people without permission, no illegal or abusive use, no reverse-engineering, no scraping.
You agree not to:
- upload a photo of another person without their permission, or any photo of a child;
- use Tayla to create sexual, defamatory, harassing, deceptive, or otherwise unlawful images of anyone;
- present a generated image as a real photograph in a way intended to mislead someone;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the models, prompts, or source of the Services;
- use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the Services, or attempt to circumvent usage limits, entitlement checks, or the paywall;
- resell, sublicense, or make the Services available to third parties as your own product;
- interfere with the Services’ operation, security, or availability, or those of the providers we depend on.
8. Our intellectual property
The Services — the app, its design, branding, and underlying software — belong to us and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own use, in line with these Terms and the App Store rules that apply to it.
That licence covers using Tayla. It does not transfer any ownership in the app itself. Section 4 governs the images you generate, which are a different thing and are yours.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Tayla at any time, and can permanently delete your account in the app under Account → Delete account. What that deletes, and the one anonymous record that outlives it, are described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms — in particular section 3 or section 7 — or if we must do so to comply with the law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed by Apple; cancel that separately in your App Store settings.
10. Apple is not a party to this agreement
In short: These Terms are between you and us. Apple distributes the app but is not responsible for it.
These Terms are between you and Tayla only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the Services or their content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, claims under consumer protection or similar legislation, or intellectual property infringement claims.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any size recommendation or generated image will be accurate.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, arising out of your use of the Services. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or A$100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as Tayla changes. When we do, we revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will give you notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state. If you use Tayla from somewhere else, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
